Double Emails in Outlook
6 Answers
Just installed Outlook as the Windows 7 RC1 I am trying on a spare PC does not intend to ship with an email program such as Outlook Express. They want you to use Microsoft Live in the future
All installed OK and contacts imported but I am receiving two identical emails of every message in the Inbox.
Any ideas please ?

It is known problem in Office 2003 Outlook despite all Office updates.
It is solved by going into tools....accounts........change..........advanced...
untick the option to retain a message on the server.
(this is normally selected when accessing mail from a secondary PC to enable a copy to t5he primary PC )

In defence of Outlook which I've never had problems whether it's 2003 or 2007!
This isn't a "known problem" as you put it, it's an option to enable you to read your email on a secondary PC but leave it on the server so that you can still download the email when you return to the your main PC. I've installed Office 2003 on many systems and never had a problem with duplicates other than when ISP's own systems mess up!
BTW, MS stopped Outlook Express with Vista, it's been Windows Mail since Vista release which is Outlook based. I've not seen 7 yet but I'll bet you a pound to a penny that there's a program for email included such as Windows Mail

Thanks sorry to disagree Camioneur even though you have never had a problem , Microsoft has and admit it is a known problem and have issued a hotfix. i.e
