My digital camera's batteries keep going flat

I have a Pentax camera and have found just lately thst every time I recharge my batteries they go flat in a very short while? Is it the batteries or is it possible the camera is shortening there life.?

Probably the batteries, they only have a limited life span.

Hello thankyou for your replies. I use 2 AA rechargable batteries. it is a Pentex M20 Digital camera. I have bought new batteries a while ago and they have gone as well.
Try inserting new alkaline AAs,and if it works for a reasonable length of time relative to the rechargeable ones,you will then be able to point to the camera's charging system.If so, go for lithium type as they last much longer.If not,make sure your batteries are rated at 2500mAh or higher.
