PS3 v XBox
OK, so which of the two consoles would you crazy gamers out there recommend please? I'm aware of price differences but price isn't an issue as long as I get the right console. Which has a better online community for game playing? I used to love Halo 3 as a guest of a friend during my lazy student days, but the new Gran Turismo is really appealing to me.

Personally I'm leant towards Xbox as thats what I have. However to go online with the Xbox will cost you 40quid a year for the subscription and another 40 if you want to go wireless.
As I understand it the PS3 allows you to go online with no extra equipment needed or membership to pay.
It really does come down to the games available and the quality of the online community. The 360 online scene is much more vibrant than the PS3 and Forza has always knocked Gran Turismo into a cocked hat.

Firstly let me say I own both and they are both awesome! My PS3 is getting more action recently as I have been caning through inFamous. But as the above guys mention, xboxlive is the crucial point.
If however you aren't interested in playing online or don't know tons of people with 360's already, then maybe consider the PS3. Blu-rays are cool, and i would go as far as to say it'll last u longer =D, allegedly the ps3 has not hit its peak yet graphically. Some sources claim 360 has but this remains to be seen.
Final point, I have been through eight 360 consoles in 2.5 years. I have heard that the newer models have eliminated some of the hardware issues. Currently am using an Arcade, and awaiting repair on an Elite.
