I thought this was maybe a problem with their iplayer but I tried Channel 4's as well and that is also saying "only available in the UK". I am definitely in the UK.

I recently had problems with my broadband disconnecting from AOL and they advised me to uninstall AOL and then install again, which I did. It seems as though this problem has only been since then. Is there anywhere on my pc where it says which country I am and, of so, how do I check if this has been changed? Would appreciate your help.

Thanks AC, it definitely says I'm in England so I haven't been beamed overseas while I slept. Will try iplayer again tomorrow and see if I have better luck.
Hi AC I clicked on the link you gave above & discovered that I am living in London, in fact I live in the West Midlands so how accurate are they?
Me too. I am in Manchester, but it thinks I am in London.
Jan,

try just unplugging the power from your router (or modem) for 30secs and then plug it back in, wait a minute and then try again.

power cycling your router should give you a different IP address when it comes back on so it's worth a try.

Thanks Chuck. I haven't tried the iplayer yet today but if it doesn't work I will try that.

Thought I'd let you all know the problem with iplayer is apparently unique to AOL so I have emailed them and hopefully they will get back to me. It's not the first time I have had problems with a site which has been unique to AOL so as I am moving soon I may look into a new package with someone else.

By the way Chuck, I tried your tip of unplugging the router and my broadband is now way faster so thanks for that.

Further update for anyone who cares. AOL said no can't connect through them as they use USA server, but try through Internet Explorer. Doh, why didn't I think of that, it works fine!
AOL = Awful Orrible Lot

I have been thinking about changing as I want to look at all in packages for broadband, phone and tv as I will be moving soon. Any ideas?

I will give AOL their due though. Whenever I have had to contact them with a problem, which has been 4 times, they have always sorted it out straight away.
