Excel list

On an Excel sheet I have made numerous columns of articles with their prices alongside.
When I try to check the correct spelling of an article via the spell checker, it does not check the spelling of that particular article, but goes elsewhere to an entirely different article in another column, somewhere on the sheet.
Can anyone please explain what is going wrong?

If you highlight the column of articles that you want to spell check, then these will be the only items that spellcheck looks at.
If you don't highlight an area for spellchecking, then the spell check will take it that you want to check the whole sheet and will go to the first spelling error it finds in the whole sheet.
