land title transfer

the owner of a piece of land adjacent to my property has offered to transfer the title to me subject to me being prepared to pay all legal costs. does anyone know how much the legal costs are for this type of transfer.

It should be quite cheap. I recently sold a small piece of my garden to my neighbour for �600 (with him paying all of the legal costs for both sides). I understand that his total payment (to me and to our joint solicitor) came to under �1000, so it appears that the legal fees must have been in the 'low hundreds'.

Yes, the Solicitor's costs should be in that region, but that should also include the Land Registry Registration fee which goes up in scales - find a friendly Solicitor and ask!
