Hello all. Since converting to digital tv ( set top box), sometimes, depending on which channel we are watching the picture tends to "skip" or break up for a milisecond or so and can sometimes go on through the whole programme making it at times unwatchable. This has happened a lot lately during this spell of good weather that we are having which makes me wonder if it is atmospherics/weather conditions causing this and can anything be done about it. Thanks, S.O.G

get the same on windy days, on sky channels and resort to direct viewings thru main tv. I do have a booster connexions.
Until your TV Region changes over from Analogue to Digital, then you will experience signal break-up due to both reduced Transmitter Power and Weather conditions.
It is not only adverse weather which can affect TV Signals, the Sun's activity can play a part as well as is the case now during fine weather.
Using a TV Signal Booster will help but it will not eradicate the problem. There will be far less problems when Digital replaces Analogue and you can check when it will happen in your Area by visiting your TV Transmitter website
One trick which mostly works here is to change channel, let the new channel settle down, then change back. It may not work for everyone, but it works for us most of the time

Thank you Tamborine ,Redman and Huderon for your very quick replies, I do have signal boosters installed ( 2 because I am operating 3 sets off one ariel). I will try increasing the booster power and see if this helps. My area is not supposed to go digital until 2012. Thank you once again. S.O.G.
