Linking my PC to my TV

I have attached the 15 pin cable to the TV and the PC as well as a separate audio cable. I get sound but no pictures! The TV handbook says the format WXGA is needed and my PC has a sticker saying I have that. What am I doing wrong, anyone know?

you need to switch on the VGA port on the laptop,

Hold down the FN key and look along the function keys for an ikkle picture of two screens or something that says something like lcd/crt on it and press that.
