Inkjet Cartridges

I have an Canon Pixma 220 and have just purchased two new, but reconditioned cartridges from a firm I have dealt with for several years, but when I have inserted the cartridges into the printer I still have a window appear stating that inks are running low. I have consulted the instruction book but cannot find the way to rectify the problem, so perhaps someone can inform me how to. TIA

Some manufacturers put a chip in the cartridge which holds a count of the number or pages printed. When it reaches whatever number the manufacturer decides is the low ink limit, their software will pop up a message warning you.

As the cartridges are reconditioned, the chip still holds the page count from previous use, hence the warning. Just click on whatever button on the message will let you ignore the warning and carry on printing (it's the OK button on the warenings from our Lexmark). and keep an eye on the print quality to give you an idea of when the cartridge needs to be changed again

the clue is in the fact - you've bought second hand used cartridges which have been refilled ... you pay's your money ....

the only thing you can do is send 'em back

ACtheTROLL, thanks for the links, unfortunately they wont help my problem as my inkjet cartridges don`t have removable chips.

the link to read first shows how to reset the chip ... not remove it

Turn off the canon printer
Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click �Power�) an indicator light green.
Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button.
Not releasing the Power Button, double click �Resume� and release Both Buttons.
Click �Resume� for Four times
Once you click �Power�, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer �Power� button to click again.
