Well as far as I know magnets generally have and effect on ferrous metals, now I suppose there is iron in the blood but not much in fat cells so I'd say they are another fad item to extract cash from the gullible.

Thankyou all for your informative and entertaining replies! I have been on a diet and look rather well,thankyou but am going away for the weekend and will be making merry with lots of carbs and alcohol. After reading the more informative posts I think I shall just throw caution to the wind and not bother. I don't want to spend the weekend on the loo!
