Firefox problem ... for Monday
10 Answers
If I have a single tab open, and I click the "Home Page" icon, it opens another tab.
It's driving me up the wall.
Help !
Confession 1
This only started when I saw something on YouTube where you can personalize the Google search page. Curiosity got the better of me. I tried it. My own stupid fault.
Confession 2
I tried to do a System Restore ... and it doesn't work.
I know, I know ... I've only got myself to blame.

Close all tabs other than the one that has the page you want as your home page open, then click tools > options click on the general tab and then "use current pages" click ok and see if that's changed it's behavior.
if not it might be an add-on causing it (it's not normal and I can't seem to find an option to make it do that on mine)
Click tools add-ons and then click the extensions tab, hopefully you only have a few, go down the list and disable them all and see if that cures it, if it does start re-enabling the extensions one by one and see which one causes the problem, then just leave that one disabled (or remove it)
If none of the above cures it, then hopefully somebody else will come along and look at this as I'm off out, but if it's not sorted I'll look again tomorrow.

Hi, Chuck.
As ever, I appreciate your advice.
In the end, I got the hump ... (yes, it's true, I had a mardy) ...
... and I uninstalled Firefox, and downloaded it from scratch.
It now seems back to normal.
Here, by the way, is the stupid YouTube video which I saw and, stupidly, followed. I don't need to tell you not to try this, because, unlike me, you are not a technical retard.

Oh, and here a clip showing why only half-wits like me would be duped by goglogo.
