Can anyone recommend a good scanner that is capable of scanning negatives (and other materials e.g. paper) and is under 100? Also, the thinner the better.

I have just such a scanner for sale.

A Umax Astra 5450. 50 quid to you. It is about 9cm high if that helps. USB interface, About 18 months old.

I need one that is less than 7cm in height so I can store it in my desk - space is VERY limited; but thanks anyway!
If space is that important, the CanoScan LiDE 80 comes in at about 120. I've got an LiDE 50 which sucks all of its power from USB2 which means one less plug. It's less than 4cm high and works well on paper and photos but I've never tried negatives but I'd say it's rubbish without the little light box thing the 80 has.

The Canon Lide 80 is ideal for me but the cheapest I've seen it is online for 110 which is still over my budget - if it wasn't so near Christmas then maybe...  I might wait until after Crimbo in the hope that it might be cheaper in the sales!
