Am I Right To Be Feeling This Way?
Family Life2 mins ago
I have a lovely picture frame which has a lovely raised (4mm) design around the edge. The design is lots of little wooden carvings. They lie between the outside and inside edge of the frame. Problem is that about 3 of them have worn off. Is there any way to repair? I basically need to make some new bits, reinsert them and paint them? I was going to apply wax, then use the mould to make some more bits. Is this the best way?Thanking you.

It becomes rubberised (rather like the stuff the dentist uses I think). You peel it off and can then use it as a mould for the broken piece. If it is a simple repair (carving a little bit) you can apply car filler and then carve and sand it. It's fiddly but can be done. Don't worry too much if it isn't perfect. When people look at a picture they see the whole thing and certainly don't examine the frame inch by inch. Good Luck with it.
