lexmark p4350

I just changed the cartridges in my lexmark p4350. now I have a communication error message on the printer 1102. I have cleaned the contacts and it makes no difference.
So then i tried the old ones back in and they are fine , empty but fine..... no error message.
So I took the cartridges back and changed them at the shop for a fresh pair thinking they must be faulty, I got home and still have the same issue.
i.e new lexmark own brand cartridges = error 1102
old cartridges empty and no message?????????????????
Any ideas?????????????????
