Sending a folder by email

Is it possible to send a folder by email without having to select all the contents of the folder individually or by highlighting them all? Is there a way just to select the folder?

ringht click on the folder and select send to and then compressed (zipped) folder, this will create a single zip file of the folder, then email the zip file.
