Hi!
My daughter needs to put 2 pictures of herself on to a flash stick for school next week. My Step-Dad gave me a 8GB flash stick. The stick is totally empty, yet I put one picture of herself on it and now it is saying the stick is almost full! Am I right in thinking she will need a 8MB stick for projects like this? Or is there something wrong with the stick?
What sort of info should you be putting on a 8GB stick if it will only hold one picture? (that's my own curiosity asking there)

What sort of size should she be looking for as I think she is wanting to put more projects on to it as she goes on through school?

Any help is much appreciated :o)

Often multi pixel cameras make higher megabytes photos, make sure the pics are jpg files and NOT bmp or other.

Hmmm thinking about it and after looking on the web, have I got my gigabytes and megabytes mixed up?

Hi again! I have checked and it says it is JPeg and the size is 1.73MB. I have tried putting it into a compressed folder but it only reduces it by a small amount. I am baffled!
picture sizes show on left hand side, bottom, of Window picture.

Hi again :o)

Would 1.73MB fill a 8GB memory stick? I'm wondering if the stick is duff!
Test the stick by putting some other files on it.

Hi Rollo :o)

It just says that the disk is full and to insert another one.
Sounds like it's a dodgy stick.
Reformat the stick. If that doesn't work then take it back where you got it.

Hi beso :o)

Just done that and it's still the same. Looks like it's a duff then!!

Thanx everyone for your help, much appreciated :o)
Are you sure the stick only appears in My Computer as one drive? They can be partitioned, making them appear as a few drives.

Hi Fo3nix

I wasn't aware of that but have just checked and no it is only on one drive.

Thanx for your help :o)
