Does anyone know how to backup files stored on an iPhone 3G, such as contact information, photographes etc.? I have attached it to my laptop but no instructions have appeared on the screen and have no idea which buttons to press. Please help!

download i tunes it works from that open it up connect mobe it will appear on left side follow instructions on backing up /downloading etc

As deggers says, iTunes does it automatically when you connect it.

In the preferences of iTunes, you will see an 'iPhones' tab. This will show the iPhones that have been backed up to your laptop, and when they were last backed up.
