Bt Studio 1100 Cordless PHone

Just bought one of these at the car boot - trying to charge it and the green light comes on. I have put batteries in, but it keeps bleeping and saying 'Not Reg'. Do I have to go through the Menu and Register or do something? Unfortunately no handbook. Help please !

You must register the handset to a base station (the unit connected to the fixed line phone socket). The base station needs to be put into search mode (to find the handset) and the handset to seek the base unit.

Thanks, I'll have a go, although I don't know what the original PIN number was ... any more help would be great ! could someone talk me through it ?
