Facebook - how do I find out more details about someone?

Some has sent me a "private" message (to my inbox) who hasn't been added as a friend and I don't know who they are - but they're sending me not very nice messages. Is there any way I can find out more about them so I can try and work out who it is? Obviously got the name (which means nothing to me) but wondered if I could do any more investigation work? Help!!

there's not much you can do, but you can block them so that can't find your profile again. if you can view their profile you could look at their friends list and see if you know anyone. also, if their email addy is visible to you, you could put that in a Google search and it may give yuo some clues.

have a quick look but then just block them. it's not really worth worry about, unless it's extreme.. then I guess you could report it to the site or even the police.
