VW Golf CD/Radio Wiring
I've attempted to fit new speakers into the parcel shelf of my golf. As there are small speakers in the
rear door I have worked out which wires relate to which speaker (wires behind the cd/radio that fed into the player). Ive cut these and used bullet connectorss to link up my new speakers. Before connecting the speakers I checked the radio it worked fine with no sound out of the old, now redundant door speakers (which was expected). However during the additional of the new speakers the whole unit has now lost power and doesnt work regardless. Ive found a loose wire which helpfully is not referred to by the haynes manual. From memory it seems like the loose wire was haphazardly placed with another of the power supply wires but no matter what wire i wedge it in with nothing seems to work, ive check the fuse, the cd player in another car and nothing seems to work.
In dire need of some assistance!

Sorry didnt make it quite clear, i've checked the cd player in another car and it works, and also tested the unit
both with and without the new speakers attached but its a power issue and by trial and error its associated
with the car rather and electrics rather than the cd player and speakers. It seems the one wire now left 'bare' is cuasing the problem but theres no place for it.

thanks, yes there is what appears to be a separate electrical ariel on the back window of my car, separate to the main ariel on the top, however its reducdant with no use and no wires coming from it. looks like it was used by a previous owner but then discard by another previous owner, explains why there is no reference to the wire in the haynes manual. but then if its not used and it is the wire for the electric ariel then its not important and there is another issue, could be a short circuit? but wont know how to fix that
