Not sure what you're really after, but try a modem to start with. I think you might be on about video-conferencing?

As far as I know you can't talk over the internet as you'll still be using a phone line so it will be no cheaper.

You'd probably be best taking a look at Skype (http://www.skype.com/). Free if both ends of the conversation are using it.

Kos, it will be cheaper if you are using a brouadband or unlimited internet connection, as you don't pay for call costs.

I heartily recommend Skype. I can talk to my friend in Chicago for hours at a time, computer to computer, at no cost to myself. , and with exceptional clarity.

For a small cost you can use Skype to call someone from your computer to a landline or mobile. However when I have found the quality to be disappointing.
