Pentax Optio M50

I have the above camera and taken lots of great photos with it, especially landscape photos but also some great photos of family at my niece's wedding. My problem is that the last few times I've taken photos with my camera they are blurred. This is mainly of people using a flash. Even when I cancel flash it's the same. No doubt, something has changed I'd love to get back to taking proper photos again. Anybody any ideas????????

I don't know the Pentax Optio but if the photographic results are blurred the problem could be either
1. you are not giving the auto-focus time to operate before taking the picture,
2. you are suffering from camera shake when taking the picture,
3. the camera (or lens) could be faulty, or
4. the lens could be cold and has steamed up. (not usual but can happen)

With most digital cameras you can half press the taking button to allow the camera to auto focus on the main subject and then hold the button in that position until you wish to actually take the picture, then continue to press the button right down.

To test the camera, take an indoor shot with the camera resting on a solid object (table??) to avoid any shake.

I think they have some sort of anti-shake software built in, but is it possible you've somehow turned it off?

Thank you wak and jno.maybe I'm not giving it time to auto focus or the anti-shake is switched off, will have to look into that. Just hope i can get it back to how it was...
