I am stuck in more ways than 1

I turned on the stickykeys facility ,which was turned on by holding down shift key for 8 seconds ,as much as I try I cannot turn it of I am using Windows XP.The feature appears with the different keys to check ,none of these are checked ,any ideas please .I have tried to use the restore feature but to no avail.
