WinAvi Video Capture

Does anyone use this programme? Out of all the capture progs I've tried, the video quality is the best and it converts automatically to Video TS, so no messing about after capturing. Only one big problem - can't get it to capture audio. Under 'devices', there is 'audio capture' but it is greyed out. Thanks in anticipation....!

If you wish to capture AUDIO only then Google for the Freecorder Toolbar.

It will capture anything you can hear through your speakers.

HI Liz, I use the Video Download Toolbar which always seems to do a good job of recording any video I watch. You could always try that if your current program still doesn't work properly.

Thanks again,Wak. I should have made myself clear from the start - I'm trying to put VHS videotapes onto my PC, so that I can get them onto DVD. I have a USB capture device and I just need to get the audio to work in WinAvi and I'll be right. Liz.

Sorry Liz, I thought you were downloading Videos from the Internet.
I have a DVD recorder and a VHS recorder, both connected to the TV and I record my VHS tapes direct to the DVD recorder using DVD-RW discs. I then copy the VOB file (on the disc) to the computer, edit out the adverts with a free program called AVIdemux and then format it to either MPG, WMV or AVI (for showing on the computer) or use another program to copy the edited version on to a DVD-R disc.
I used to have a USB recording device but had problems with it and so started doing it as listed above.
