Windows 7

I have order windows 7 after just buying a new computer (as it came with a free upgrade). When it arrives is it just a simple case of sticking it in the DVD drive and loading it up or is there more to it than that?
I have never had to load up a operating system before as the PC's i have bought have all been preloaded
Any help ot links would be great

WARNING

Any Windows install or upgrade can go wrong and you could lose some or all of your personal data.

I STRONGLY suggest you back up personal data to CD/DVD or to an external drive.

Better to be safe than sorry.

On the other hand, if it's a new PC, just wait to use it before installing the upgrade, then there won't be anything to lose! The Windows 7 installation is a dream and takes only about 20 minutes.

Thank you both, these are the answers I wanted.
How come though, some people already have Windows & when the release date is not to the 22/10/09?
Also I have seen some sites saying that they will update you with Windows 7 now (full workable edition)

Can't speak for others, but my company gets a load of stuff in advance as part of the Microsoft Partnership Program. I've just installed Windows 7 Pro on what was my Vista machine.
