g1 phone

My boyfriend has the above phone (I have a samsung, not sure of model, its a slide one though?) and on two occasions when I've sent him a message he has received the first part of it correctly but then the second part has 'disappeared' and been replaced by the second part of a text message I sent him months before. My outbox and drafts are always empty and he doesn't have the original message (that has now become the second half of the new message) on his phone anymore. How is this happening??
