I am trying to use the clone tool on Paint.net without any success.I've done what info says,can anyone please offer any suggestions as to what may be wrong..................the prog or me???? Thanks

In paint.net you press ctrl and left click on area to clone which I have done. Could you please explain about being in the correct layer? Thanks for the quick reply!!
