DVD/VCR interference

Whenever my DVD/VCR player is switched on it is not possible to watch via sattelite on TV (unless the VCR is set to sattelite of course). All my components are connected by scart and I used to get round it by switching to channel 6 but ever since we had a power failure the TV only shows a blue screen on channel 6 whilst the VCR is switched on. Retuning does not help as channel 6 shows sattelite programmes perfectly OK when the VCR is off. The problem arises when we are recording on terrestrial and I want to watch sattelite TV.

how many scart sockets does the set have?

is it a vcr-dvd all in one unit or are they seperate decks?

sounds like you need to adjust the RF output channel of the vcr and satelite, set video to about UHF 36 and satellite to something much higher if it will let you. then retune the tv to each.

Problem would be resolved by wiring as follows:

tv scart 1: dvd player

tv scart 2: video

tv scart 3: satellite.

....and connect a second scart between satellite and vcr to be able to tape clearly off satellite on VCR AV input

anyway let us know more details and we will try to help on AB

Thank you for your response romko. My TV has three scart sockets and the VCR is a combined DVD/VCR by LG. Scart 1 is to satellite, scart 2 is to DVD/VCR as per the manual (I think).
