I will be changing providers next week and will be without internet access on my computer for a week or so. Is there any way I can get my emails on another computer - i.e. someone else's.
I have my own domain email address.

Something wrong there. Usually churning a connection results in an outage of a couple of hours.

If you have you own domain and email address you can collect it from any computer having a mailer set up with the mail server adress, username and password.
There is so much information left out here that it's impossible to answer this question!

You have your own domain, who hosts it/provides the mail servers for your domain? how do you currently get your email?

If your domains email is provided by your existing ISP then you will lose your email totally when you close the account with your current provider. if it's hosted elsewhere then it's not a problem. you just have to setup your mail details on another computer
