JPEG & PDF
5 Answers
I scan the weekend crosswords and attach them to an e-mail to a friend overseas.
I now have the new Windows 7 and my friend says she is receiving them as JPEG and
cannot read them, and is wondering why I have changed things.
As far as I can tell I have done exactly as I always have but I'm told they used to be PDF.
Any thoughts would be most welcome as we are both 'oldies' and don't really understand these things!

The Image Format drop-down offers: JPEG, Bitmap, multi-tiff, tiff, and PDF.
Alternatively, assuming your friend is using Windows XP, she could simply save the attached jpeg to her desktop, right-click and choose "open with", then "choose program", highlight the entry "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer", check the box "Always use the selected program..." and click OK.
She only needs to do that once, and subsequently, the jpegs should open automatically with the correct application.
