My son-in-law has an Apple computer and accesses his e-mail through I think it is SAFARI. His broadband is supplied by TALK-TALK/AOL.

My question: Is it possible to set up the e-mail so it sends a READ RECEIPT. We have scoured the HELP programmes but can find no reference to this.

Many thanks.

The fact that he has an Apple and uses Safari is neither here nor there. We need to know what email he is using eg: btinternet.co.uk; gmail.com; hotmail.co.uk......
also you can't setup his email so it sends a read receipt, a read receipt is requested by the person that sends the email.
Which I personally find annoying. Any of my friends ask for one I bin the mail and if they're not careful, the friend.
it's sometimes a requirement in business mails postdog

His e-mail is talk-talk.com
You probably can't set it up to request a read receipt, not many web mail services support this.

if you need read receipts then you will have to use the mac mail client and set it up to access your talk talk emails using the software and then use the software to request a receipt.

However there is no guarantee that requesting read receipts will work with everyone, it is not a standard and won't always work across differing mail clients
