ebay want me to verify my paypal account?
7 Answers
i tried to sell something on ebay, like i have many times before, and it wouldn't let me until i verified my paypal account, this is fine until i went through everything then i had to check my bank details and confirm, when i read it proper there was a box saying i was agreeing to direct debit from my account to paypal??i didn't understand what i would be signing up for,i was under the impression it was just an extra security check for my benefit, not for some d.d to be set up?anyone else had to do this?i know it says that paypal will debit small deposits of cash into my account,i then check and let paypal know when i've recieved it so they know i am who i say i am ,as im the only one to access my account ,it all just sounds a bit far fetched???

Why should you have to set up a direct debit when YOU are the one who is selling something? If you can access your bank account on line it should be possible to delete direct debits if you wish. Sorry I'm not being much help but frankly I don't like the sound of it.
Pinkcowprint, sounds like you're a bit uncomfortable with the situation. No harm in being too careful. i think it's good to follow you gut instincts. why don't you email paypal and verify with them. log on to their website and contact them through their website, they will then verify if it's legitimate or not. i would if i was unsure.
