SD card video

I have some video i took last night on a sd card, but i can't seem to send it to my friends..the computer just locks up. I've saved it from the card to my documents, but it still does the same.!! Can anyone help?What do i need to do? I'm no computer whizz so simplistic answers please..lol Thanks in advance..Chris.
