I have now been switched from Tiscali to Talk Talk as my ISP.
Whenever I try to search the internet from the talktalk home page I am directed to a page of advertising for talktalk products.
Anybody know how I can stop this please?
Thanks for the quick replies.
Life was running along nice and smoothly and then they have to go and **** it up.
With Tiscali I could just enter what I was looking for in the box at the top of page (don't know the correct term for it) which said "search the web" and press enter. (I know, that's what we all do).
I thought I would still be able to do this with talktalk, but no.
Do you think that they haven't got it all switched on and working properly yet - this is the first morning of the changeover?
No that is how it is. As the others have said. Make something else your home page like google. Tiscali and Talk Talk are two different companies and the chances of them running in the same way as you are used to is very slim.
Thanks squarebear.
Actually the problem is that talktalk have taken over tiscali, so I guess things will not be the same.
However, all is not lost.
I'm using Firefox and on the toolbar is a search section which is labelled Google, so I'll just have to remember to search through that instaed of talktalk.
Yu know the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" - well I wish more companies would follow that truism!
Problem seems to be cured now.
Could have been a glitch from the changeover.
I've just always used Tiscali as home page because it was there, and I guess I got used to where things were and saw no reason to change.
Thanks all for your input.
