As someone who tales bags of no notice normally, a troll is someone who tries too hard.
As someone who tonight took exception to a troll making very uncalled for and nasty comments about me personally and my beloved dog Bingo, a troll is a waste of spave and should be riodiculed and pittied at every opportunity as a sport worthy or Olympic qualification

to troll or not to troll that is the question.
wether it is nobler in the better mind to suffer the cr*p and Crud of

Or to take up keyboard against an ethernet of troubles
and by opposing them, insight them to do more.

A contingent of Chatterbank posters seems to have embraced a far more simplistic definition of the term "troll" from my POV.
A troll (in my experience) isn't just someone who assumes a phoney username and goes "blah blah b*ll*cks" all over a chat/forum, it's normally much more complex and subtle than that. I am flabbergasted at the amount of energy and attention that is being poured upon this incorrect assumption, are these people REALLY that directionless and moronic? I hope I'm wrong.

There is at least one 'persona' who manufactures dozens of usernames in order to post on this forum. This person uses other forums to gather personal information (not available here) and posts jaw-droppingly gratuitous messages to and about other contributors. (There may, in actual fact, be more than one, it is a little hard to tell at times). He is certainly a Troll.
There is a suspicion (it would take too long to explain) that a group of people have (away from the site) swapped details of username/passwords and will take it in turns to post under these usernames wrong-footing the 'genuine' contributors. These are Trolls, because of their behaviour.
There is certainly ONE user, who has been banned from this site, who also develops many usernames with which to come back to this site. When challenged he has the propensity, usually in direct correllation with the amount of alcohol he has consumed, to make offensive and distastsful comments to other users. He is a Berk.
I think the traffic you have witnessed has been a roughly 50/50 split with discussions about who is the/are the Trolls and who is the Berk.
You certainly could argue that they all ought to be left to stew in their own juices, but since the 'report this answer' facility has been restored, the trolls can now zap innocent users from the forum.
If I had 10 names, I could make you disappear from here, Mustardmit.
I hope that suffices as I'm off to bed in a minute............:o)

Ok, that in my definition is a "security breach" not a troll. I didn't realise that AB's "report this answer" facility was un-policed and in the hands of the posters, I thought there would be moderators dealing with it and reporting inappropriate content would be dealt with by them.
