Frustrated! Considering private health care and after opinions

I had some gastro scans back in July/Early August and a spinal MRI via rhumatology (they found some abnormalities on some x-rays) in October.

I hadn't heard anything about either of them since though I did ring up and make sure they had my new address and check nothing had gone astray in the post inbetween.

I have been suffering badly for a while with a related problem (http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul
/Health-and-Fitness/Question849168.html)
which won't seem to go away and which the GP said both back in November and yesterday they cannot really do anything about and I need to see my consultant and get tests results etc...

So I chased again in November asking if they could send the test results through to my GP but still nothing.

I saw my GP yesterday who said to chase again and let him know if nothing was forthcoming as he would write to them. I rang both gastro and rhumo who both confirmed that the tests results were back but that I appear to have dropped out of the system somewhere.

To be fair, both the consultants' secretaries were lovely and really helpful.

Rhumo one is going to check with my consultant and ask if she will write to me (as would normally happen as not back in clinic until March unless they find something they need to see me about sooner).

Gastro one said they the earliest she could even get me into clinic again would be from June unless she can get me on another list so she has booked me in with one of the specialist nurses next week.

Sorry, just wanted to vent a bit! I am wondering it it would be worth my while to try and find the money to be able to go private. I know my gastro consultant does private as found him on the web but not sure if you can get say one off consultations or have to have insurance or how to go about it at all really.

Any views much appreciated :)

jenna....if you can afford to go private then my advice would be for you to do so.

You have described a standard of health care that would be unacceptable in a third World country.

What is the point of having investigations if the results never come to hand.
July/Early August ?!? If 'd have been waiting that long I think I'd be threatening to write to my MP. In fact I probably would have by now. If they've lost the results the least they could do is scan you again.
