i deleated tem off of itunes to free up disk space, why?
don't resync it with Itunes then, it will wipe the iPod!

Yamipod will let back up direct from the iPod

You should not delete them from iTunes, that is your master library. You should back up your iTunes, not your iPod.

You will need to get them off the iPod and back into iTunes. There are apps that will do this for you. You need to do a search for one which will work with your OS.
Ipod needs Itunes, no way round it. Now you have deleted the tracks from itunes you will loose them from your ipod next time you sync

Well we had more of an idea than you!!

once you have a backup of them there is no reason why you can't keep your Itunes library on the external drive, saves the space on the computers drive and lets you keep using the ipod/itunes as it should be.

Afternoon everyone.

A friend of mine did just the same - he had to borrow by whole CD collection afterwards.

That is a handy link Chuck.

Let's not start calling each other names!

hey, those answers were very helpful, Admarlow: they explained why what you did was a mistake. If nobody had done so you might have done it again. Don't rubbish people who explain things - I might well need them some day, next time I do something dumb, and I don't want them driven away.
don't worry jno, sure I'll still be here next time you do something dumb ;) LOL
Dear Admarlow,

Don't be rude. As with any situation calling someone "USELESS" is unlikely to endear you to anyone - especially when they were trying to help.

Here are the rules: http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Info/Rules/

Using caps-lock is is against Site Rules. In internet terms it is the same a shouting at someone - I think we can all agree this isn't very nice.

All the best.
