More than one itunes?

We have all our music on itunes on our only home computer. My daughter and I synch our ipods on it and we have vastly different musical tastes. At the moment we each have to untick/tick hundreds of tracks every time we update. Is there a way of having an itunes each or how do other families get around this hassle? Also is there a way of ticking all tracks in one go? Many thanks.

Would making two separate playlists: one for you and one for your daughter - work? You both then drag your chosen tracks in to each of these from the main library, then 'autofill' from those individual playlists?

When it comes to sync you just tick the playlist.
