I have downloaded Soundforge7 on a computer that operates on Windows98 (not enough space to run it though).  I now want to install it on a computer that I use for music and photo processing (windows XP) only.  Both have CD R/W capability but I can't manage to save the program on a CD on Win98.  I thought maybe I needed to format a CD first (as per the old floppies) but cannot seem to find any facility on either computers that will do that.  (I know the obvious answer is to connect XP to the internet but there are reasons I will not do so). 

Am I missing something simple or is the download restricted?

You don't need to format blank CDs before using them but you're not making clear exactly what your problem with saving the downloaded program to CD is. I'd try (if you haven't already) copying it to a CDR rather than a re-writable one.

Sorry,   the problem is I downloaded the program onto Win98 but can't copy it to a CD to transfer it to my other computer.  There isn't an option on the "Win98" computer that will let me save it to another drive.

Are you suddenly unable to create data CDs or have you never done this on your Win98 PC?

How big is the downloaded file and are you able to put it on any other storage device (like a usb pen drive or a zip file which spans a few floppies)?
