hi, i use a spanish sim card for holidays(cheaper than roaming) last time on hol when i tried to make a call i got the message ("check operator services") which i could not understand, although i could still recieve calls and txt,any help would be appreciated. thanks.
Perhaps you were out of credit?
Or, perhaps the Spanish Sim card had not been set up to allow overseas calls to be made - were you calling home or another number in Spain? A quick call to their operator (how's your Spanish?) should sort it out in that case.
It depends who you're with. Some operators require you to top up every couple of months, and if you don't then they cut you off. Just ring the operator or customer services and ask for an English speaking operator. The best deal I've found is Vodafone. You can get a sim card for 24 and there's 18 worth of credit free.
