Changing date on Gantt project

Is it possible to backdate Gantt project. Am currently doing a timeline on a project, (which we must display as evidence of planning and carrying out the work) which I started in January, but the date will only start at the current date. Any solutions appreciated.

We were allowed to pick any business project, either real or imaginary, and carry it through. I have been working on developing an adult learning aid, and I must show how I planned and carried out the bits of it. I had started the project a few weeks ago, and was too busy to write up my Gantt project. Now I find that it seems to only run from today's date, and I need it to show the bits of work I had planned and done recently. Thanks

Don't know that software, but if it won't let you select a start date in the past how about setting your computers clock to the date you want the project to start and then creating the project.

Thank you for that!! Clever idea, will have a go at that. Am new to that software, so just finding my way around it.
