I'm on the edit part of the above prog. I am trying to delete parts of a video, when I "section off" the part I don't want and press delete all it does is save it. It doesn't take it from the main video. If you know of this prog can you help me with this please or know of a site that deals with such problems. Thanks!!

How are you "sectioning off" your selection?

You need to drag the marker to where you want to start the cut. Then, below the preview screen, select the scissors icon. This will cut the video in two.

The drag the marker to where you want the video to resume and press the scissors again. Now your video is in three sections, select and delete the middle section.

That's how to do it!

Thanks mattfox,to quote a well known quip "I've been doing all the right things but not necessarily in the right order".Instead of marking and cut and then mark again and cut I've bee marking BOTH positions prior to cutting If that makes sense?? Anyway thanks again!!!!

PS to add to that I was using the "brackets" below the preview screen to section off the part which IS designed to save!!!..I have now done what you suggested with success,thanks again!!

Editing video can get quite complex but VideoStudio does a fairly good job at keeping it simple - and once you've used a few editing packages, you can see they all operate in a pretty similar way
