no serial number on laptop

fujitsu have written to me to ask me to check if my battery is one of the ones that needs replacing due to a fault. where they indicate my laptop serial number should be is completely blank. there is a white sticker kind of thing that the serial should be printed on. the sticker is there, but nothing on it! i cant continue with the check unless i have the serial number. any suggestions?

Well, the obvious suggestion is to tell Fujitsu and ask their advice.
