dont plug your ipod in yet !!!!!

type a search into google - there are programmes that allow you to save songs from your ipod back to your pc, than copy them back into itunes.
if you plug your ipod into itunes, you'll lose the tracks, as they won't be in your library any more
I had a similar issue - 'lost' a load of my tracks from the library and had to do the above.
some of the programmes are free, some make a small charge. I'll try to find the one i used for you..it was free, but you have to copy 5 songs at a time - if you'r ehappy to pay a small charge you can do the whole lot in one go.

this is quite a common question on the itunes forum. that's how i found the answer
also did a search on google for you, and the 'ehow' website has another easy way to do this
