Inserting a media card into Blackberry flip - should it be sooo difficult?

Can anyone tell me how to insert the media card into a Blackberry flip mobile - I have tried coutless times to slide it into the little slot above the volume buttons at the side but it wont go in! What on earth am I doing wrong, please help I am pulling my hair out here!!
