Printing cards

I notice that one can buy A6 ready folded cards, so that one can make their own personalised cards.

Which way round does one load these into the printer, the longest side, in sideways ie width of an A4 sheet?

Or the longest side in, and adjust for the width on the printer?

If the later is necessary, can one purchase a piece of software that will allow one to print borderless and sideways if necessary?

Hard to explain really, but I hope someone who has used these cards and can give me one or two pointers please.

I am using an ancient HP Photosmart 7150 printer.

I would guess you put them in the way your software asks for it. But I'd suspect shorter width across, longer front to back.

You could always try a test one.

use one of the cards as a template and make a couple from regular printing paper. then do a test run until you get it exactly how you want the card to be.

thanks for your interest, but if I load them that way I will have to print sideways, how do yo do that?

If I put them in the other way I can't get them to ther bottom of the printer.

Most home printers only take A4 narrowest edge first. If you want it printed sideways tick foolscap in your printer software. nb 'preview' the print first to check how it will print out.
