I took out a subscription to Norton Security about ten months ago, and, although it seems to cover virtually everything, it DOES seem to slow the computer down somewhat...I was just wondering if anyone uses a system that covers most things, keeps itself up to date as Norton does and does the job quicker? I took out Norton as some of it was already on the computer with windows...Before this I used free AVG, which seemed to let a few nasty things in that it couldn't get rid of!

Im surprssed you have had problems with the free AVG as ive used this for years with no problems what so ever..
What problems did you have with it and was you going on dodgy web pages ?

As a bit new with the computer the odd dodgy page did appear from time to time!
I am using Norton Internet Security 2010 and I see no appreciable slowing down of my system. Other people have said that previous versions can have some effect on speed.
How important is this to you?

I am also on 2010 but reading so much here about how slow Norton is,I wondered if, say Mc Afee is better overall?
I couldn`t get on with Norton either. Free AVG would`nt download on my new computer so I subscribed to McAfee. I love it. It runs itself. I was forever having messages from Norton about updating.
