Duplicated question in computers
Hi My son is away in Afghan and he is in touch weekly by Windows Live Messenger, as he is coming to the end of his tour within the next 4 weeks he is not always able to get online, so i am asking.
Will it do any harm to my PC if i was to leave it on and permanately signed in to messenger so he can nudge me or e-mail me and i would hear him right away.
provided it is kept cool and is in good condition then it shouldn't hurt. Of course if you have got any bits of wire or gubbins that are about to give up the ghost then the continued heat might tip it over the edge. Does WLM or your ISP log you out if there is no activity for a stated time?
Hi to all that answered my Q my son is now safe and home with his family and looking forward to getting back into the normal life and the swing of things.
Thanks to those who show their concern for our guys and girls in the armed forces where ever they may be
