i did have open office, but had to remove it the other day due to my hard drive being overloaded. now i have space, i want it back, but every time i try to download it, my pc keeps telling me that i still have the old open office, or it tells me to disable my anti-virus!!
is there a simple solution?

Did you remove it via a proper uninstall program or use Windows control panel uninstall method, or did you simply delete it (the shortcuts) out of the program list.
if i were you and your hard drive is overloaded "a new one on me) do you mean your out of memory? i'd buy as a quick remedy an external hard drive cheap and a cinch to install & transfer some big progs from your main hard drive over to that

i deleted it using the bin, which i also deleted by accident. i just moved the open office logos which are on my screen to the waste paper basket, and clicked, but when i tried to empty the bin that went also. sorry but i have a terrible vocab when it comes to computers. can i get the bin back too?

If you're using WIndows as the operating system, click the START button and hover over 'All Programs >', a menu will open with most of the programs that are installed on your comp. click on the one you want and it should open. If it does go back to the program in the list and rightclick it. That will give you an option to 'Send To >' and that will give you an opportunity to create a shortcut on the desktop.

I have no idea how you deleted the (recycle) bin but rightclick anywhere on your desktop and select 'arrange icons by>' and make sure the 'Show Desktop Icons' has a check beside it. If it doesn't just click the wording and all icons should reappear.

hi wildwood, most of my icons have returned apart from my recycle bin.
This might restore your recycle bin

1. Right-click an empty area of your desktop
2. Select Properties
3. Click the Desktop tab
4. Click the Customize button
5. Click Restore Default
6. Exit all windows and restart your computer
