phone is connecting to the net on it own at random times - why?

my phone, a samsung i600, seems to be connecting to the net randomlyy every day - and i am being charged for this...i hardly ever use the net on my phone because i dont need to - what could be the reason for this?
it connected apparently at 9.05 am this morning - when i was asleep!

so other than me actually connecting - what other things would cause a conncetion?

it isnt that i have a back button that connects to the net - i have to go through the menu to connect to it cant be an accident..

You mobile phone carrier is probably responsible for this. I imagine they are sneakily doing this for business purposes.

Otherwise a ghost is using your phone.
